Mission

Sterling Extracts produces Concentrated Organic Herbal Elixirs and Tinctures.  We concentrate each individual herbal tincture in a small batch with a process that uses minimal heat to remove some to most of its alcohol solvent.  Each tincture has a tendency to concentrate down a different amount, some more, some less.  There is also a slight variation in the degree of concentration achieved from one batch of a single herb to the next.  Careful records are taken from each batch in order to provide you with a good estimate of how much dry herb went into making each dose of extract.  This information is clearly stated on the label.  We also transform many of our tinctures into elixirs with the addition of Organic Hawaiian Honey.  Our concentrated herbal elixirs and tinctures provide the following benefits over other products:

• More bioavailable (quickly and completely absorbed) than powdered herbs or herbal extract powders

• No need to swallow pills or capsules or mix clumpy powders

• Like traditional tinctures, they retain more of the heat sensitive bioactive plant compounds that are present in each herb.  These include both water and oil soluble compounds such as vitamin C, polyphenols, flavonoids, and glycosides that may be degraded by extraction processes that use high temperatures or prolonged exposure to heat.

• Compared to traditional tinctures they contain a lower concentration of alcohol and a higher concentration of beneficial bioactive plant constituents; this results in extracts with improved flavor and enhanced effectiveness.

• The addition of Organic Hawaiin Honey further improves the flavor of our concentrated tinctures and turns them into Elixirs.  It also enhances the body's ability to absorb the medicinal* compounds present in each herb.
